Mejorando la eficacia del sorafenib con nanopartículas en el tratamiento del hepatocarcinoma: mini revisión

El hepatocarcinoma es el tipo de cáncer hepático más común y tiene un alto índice de mortalidad, este padecimiento se
detecta en la mayoría de los casos en los estados avanzados de la enfermedad. El tratamiento de primera línea en
hepatocarcinoma avanzado es el sorafenib, el cual, es un inhibidor de tirosin-cinasas que ayuda a aumentar la sobrevida de
los pacientes. Una de las razones por la cual la respuesta al sorafenib es baja, es debido a la resistencia que generan las células cancerígenas a este fármaco. La nanotecnología a ayudado a mejorar las características farmacocinéticas y
farmacodinámicas de los fármacos mediante el uso de nano acarreadores. En esta mini revisión se describirán los
mecanismos de acción antitumoral descritos para el sorafenib, los mecanismos de resistencia y como los nano acarreadores han mejorado la terapia con sorafenib al disminuir la resistencia y mejorar la entrega del fármaco en el sitio tumoral.
